SW Super Deck and Dock

Ed’s deck had weathering issues including some shallow rot on posts and film failure on walking areas.  The decks load bearing post would have been expensive to replace. 

Early detection and proactive solvency saved him from a future replacement.  I mechanically and chemically stripped the whole deck before reviving the wood, then used wood bondo to fill the recessed areas that were compromised to keep future water from getting in and creating more damage. 

After sanding, to keep the contour, stain was applied to the post and the rest of the desk.  The walkways had failed over time as well.  It is my preference to use Sherwin Williams Super Deck and Dock.  It is made for just that, boat docks. 

A more robust stain for high traffic aquatic docks will work wonders on your deck with lower traffic and a dryer environment.  That’s why I choose it.
